Theo tôi, có hai phong cách sống trên đời: nhà toán và nhà thơ.
Phong cách nhà toán thì bạn biết rồi: cuộc đời là bài toán khổng lồ cần giải, bạn sẽ luôn phải căng não ra để tính toán và cuộc đời bạn sẽ bị gắn với những con số: số cân nặng khi mới sinh, số điểm trên trường, số lương mỗi tháng, số tiền trong tài khoản, số nước đã đi qua, số người yêu đã hẹn hò, số tài sản để lại cho con cái…
Tôi đã từng sống như một nhà toán để rồi nhận ra cuộc đời sao mệt mỏi và căng thẳng quá. Thời điểm phát hiện ra mình phát chán với những con số và việc giải bài toán cuộc đời, tôi quyết định đổi hướng. Một bước ngoặt tuyệt vời.
Tôi phát hiện ra lý do mọi người không thể sống như là nhà thơ là vì toàn bộ những năm tháng đã qua, chúng ta đều chỉ được dạy về toán mà thôi. Nếu có học thơ thì chỉ là đọc thơ của ai đó hay phân tích thơ chứ không ai dạy ta cách để làm một bài thơ cả, huống gì cách sống như một bài thơ.
Toán học muốn đo đạc mọi thứ, muốn biến mọi thứ thành những con số và phép tính nhưng ai có thể đo được nỗi buồn hay niềm vui? Ai có thể đo được sự cô đơn hay tình bạn? Ai có thể đo được tình yêu? Ấy vậy mà thơ lại làm được: nỗi buồn to như ngọn gió mênh mang; sự cô đơn nặng trĩu như giọt nước còn đang vương trên mi mắt; niềm vui thì nhẹ bẫng như một cánh bồ công anh lượn bay trên bầu trời…
Đặc trưng của toán là cần ai đó dạy bạn về những con số, phép tính, quy tắc, quy luật. Đó là lý do người sống như nhà toán sẽ khó mà cảm thấy hạnh phúc bởi vì toán học vốn không cho phép bạn sáng tạo lẫn tự do. Toán là luật.
Trong khi điều tuyệt vời của thơ là bạn có thể làm thơ kể cả khi bạn không biết một quy tắc làm thơ nào. Bởi vì thơ thì không cần quy tắc nhưng chỉ cần khả năng cảm nhận của tâm hồn bạn mà thôi. Thơ cho bạn khả năng sáng tạo bao la để từ đó đời bạn có thể biến đời mình thành một tác phẩm nghệ thuật, một điệu vũ, một bài ca hay một mùa lễ hội bất tận. Thơ ca như mật ngọt của cuộc sống. Không có thơ ca nghệ thuật, cuộc đời sẽ rất khô khan. Tưởng tượng một thế giới nơi mà ai cũng là nhà toán học đi… Cơ mà cũng đâu cần tưởng tượng, chỉ cần nhìn quanh bạn cũng có thể thấy mà, đúng không?
Trong toán học người ta dễ dàng phán xét đúng sai và sẽ không chấp nhận cái sai. Nếu bạn dám tuyên bố “Quả đất bé bằng hạt bưởi hong khô” bạn có thể bị đem ra xét xử hoặc bắt phải chứng minh. Nhưng trong thơ ca thì chẳng có gì là đúng hay sai cả, chỉ có những cảm xúc. Thơ ca bao dung và chấp nhận bạn hoàn toàn: “Trái đất bé bằng hạt bưởi” của bạn cũng được chấp nhận – không phán xét.
Sống như nhà thơ bạn sẽ giúp nhìn ra cái đẹp của mọi thứ xung quanh, từ sự trong veo của giọt sương trên cánh hoa hồng buổi sớm, cách một chiếc lá vàng xoáy bay trong gió chiều tà, sự ấm áp của một ánh nắng đi lạc đang hun nóng làn da cô gái nhỏ… cho tới cái đẹp của những thứ mà toán học không thể nào tiếp cận: cái đẹp của một vết thương lòng, sự êm ái của nỗi cô đơn, cảm giác tan chảy trong vòng tay siết ôm nhau thật chặt hay đôi khi cả sự sống mãnh liệt đang ẩn giấu trong một cọng rơm khô bên đường…
Những thứ như thế bạn chỉ có thể thấy khi sống bằng đôi mắt của nhà thơ.
Từ khi tôi học được cách sống như một bài thơ, toàn bộ thế giới này thay đổi: Tình yêu trở nên rực rỡ hơn với cả niềm vui lẫn nỗi buồn; Cuộc sống trở nên ý nghĩa hơn với cả những thành công và thất bại; Con người trở nên đáng yêu hơn kể cả khi họ là bạn hay thù; và chính đời tôi cũng trở nên tươi mới hơn, xinh đẹp hơn trong từng khoảnh khắc.
Sống với tinh thần nhà toán, bạn có thể trở nên giàu có với những con số vật chất. Nhưng chỉ khi sống với tinh thần của một nhà thơ, bạn mới có thể cảm nhận sự giàu có bên trong tâm hồn.
Người ta tặng nhau những bài thơ, chẳng ai tặng nhau bài toán cả.
Hãy biến đời bạn thành một bài thơ hay và rồi đem tặng nó cho cuộc sống này.
